Buddist Monks and Christ

Recently a friend of mine told me that she attended Teaching of a very known Buddist Monk .Supprisly the buddist monk first words to all the christians there were come back to the church . He always mention Christ as the most holy person and everyone should take example from him especialy from his love ,he also mention Mary, as the most holy and full of love .I was very suprised about that .I did some seraching and find out that Budism has alot of similarity to christianity .And guess what >>...... at the place of teaching and meditation there is a painting of Jesus i trust you ! (All the monks know the story of sister Faustyna ) they always say to the catholics who are complaining about our religion .To seek deeper meaning of their faith .And not to try adopting only items from their religion that they like and ignore other rules .You `can't change religion If you catholic be catholic to the fullest . Can I said to all the Christians out there ... take example from the Monks .

D-Be careful. Buddism and Catholicsm are not compatable. In Catholism, Christ is not only a "model" but God himself. Buddists believe that Christianity can be a way to eternal peace, or nirvana (they don't believe in a concrete God like we do) but there are no set dogmas. If this Buddist monk admires Catholism that much he should become Catholic. If he beliees that Jesus is just a great philospher like Budda, I'd rather he leave our holy images and icons alone. Many Catholics believe they can practice both Buddism and Catholicism. Pope John Paul II spoke against this. Jesus is the only way to heaven.

Of course we can't compare Buddism and catholicism You right. But we sholu be tolerant .Even very known and good catholic priest said that everyone has different way to God .Some people looking for a God in Buddism they need to hear from a monk that this is not a place for it .They might feel pretty shock seeing Jesus picture . Maybe this is wake up call for them .This Monk does not teach them how to be Buddist but rather how to meditate to get inner peace and live the life to have peace in their heart (What other way they can find peace like to find Jesus ?) Just imagine what if someone have some issues or not so good experience with church and there is no way this person will come back to church so it's seeking other life style and here it comes to Buddist place and see a image of Christ .That must be a great wake up call for that person ! maybe that is the only way Jesus can speak to him . Is in this great that Buddist recognize Mary as a mother of Christ but so many christan churches not ? I truly believe that Christ is a father off all the people . Thank you for you opinion it is great that you responded hope I hear more .
even John Paul II often used to meet with Dali Lama one of the famous Buddist and I'm sure they had alot in common .When i said about Buddism and Christan I ment they should took example of the virtues and life style .Buddist are against killing and war .They said that most important is our spiritual needs then our material needs .If we never take care of our spiritual needs we never find happiness in our life .We also should take care of the needy one and share what we have with the less fortune one .So that's what i ment and last let us remember that Buddist is not religion .
